Day One - Monday 6th August 

Departure from Central pick up point or hotel –   board coach to Bendigo

Enjoy morning tea whilst experiencing the charm of Bendigo. Your tour will include, Vintage tram ride through Bendigo, Central Deborah mine tour, Golden Dragon Chinese Museum and gardens.    You will be delighted and amazed when you arrive at Central Deborah. Here, we put on a hard hat, complete with miner’s lamp, descend 61 metres beneath the earth, and walk in the footsteps of the past miners.  You will be guided through a honeycomb of underground tunnels. Whilst underground, experience a traditional miner’s meal “a crib lunch”.  This is a treat – a “Cornish Pastie” with a difference, traditionally known by the miners as “tiddy oggy”. On your return to the surface, take some time to explore, absorb the atmosphere, “pan for gold”. Head to the gift shop, which boasts, an enormous collection of momento’s for sale.   Note:   **Special requirements: Mine tour – appropriate footwear and jacket. Now it’s back on board your coach, to the Bendigo Pottery interpretive museum.  Enjoy a tour and afternoon tea. Re board your coach for our last destination of the day – Echuca/Moama.  A town bordered by Victoria and New South Wales.  Also known as “Meeting of the Waters” -The Murray- The Goulburn -  The Campaspe.

On arrival at the Port of Echuca, we make our way to your accommodation at the Maddison Spa Hotel.  Relax and enjoy an a la carte meal in the restaurant.  Guests can have an option massage or treatment available at own cost.

Day Two - Tuesday 7th August

After breakfast, all refreshed, for our second day of adventures.  Board your coach today, it’s off to visit the Dharnya Indigenous Centre for a “welcome to country” smoking ceremony, by the local Yorta Yorta tribe. Experience the cultural interpretive walk through forestland, viewing timeless beauty, historical indigenous sites, for example “the scar tree”. Your guides today have an amazing sense of the land, history and culture.

Enjoy morning tea overlooking the lake, flush with abundant flora and fauna local to land and Murray River. Your morning includes a cruise on the Kingfisher, where you will travel along the river, and experience the majestic Murray as it curves and sways.  Experience the peace, as you glide through the world heritage listed Barmah wetlands.

Back on board your coach, we make our way to Cape Horn Winery – Experience local wines, woodfire pizza, cheese boards. Take a leisurely stroll through the vines, whilst enjoying a local wine. After lunch, board your coach, bound for the Port of Echuca.  On arrival, we will visit the Yorta Yorta Gallery, then enjoy free time, to delight in the Port of Echuca.  Board coach for transport back to your accommodation at the Maddison Spa Hotel. Tonight, you will board your coach and head back into the Port of Echuca.  Here you will enjoy a cruise under lights along the Murray whilst enjoying a 2 -course evening meal.  The water and light show effects, along with the night animals on the banks of the Murray will be your entertainment. (Drinks own cost).  Board your coach back to hotel.

Day Three - Wednesday 8th August

Breakfast, pack your bags and board your coach for a scenic day ahead.

Your coach today, will be headed to the Gunbower National Park and forest complex.  Experience lunch at the Gunbower pub.  Enjoy, paddock to plate style dining.  After lunch, set course for Swan Hill Pioneer Settlement. Step back in time and enjoy this experience. Mid-afternoon transfer to accommodation. After refreshing yourself, enjoy your evening meal then all aboard the coach for an amazing night, at the Swan Hill Pioneer Settlement. Here, you will experience the award winning “Heartbeat of the Murray laser light show” a spectacular show set on the set on the banks of the Little Murray River.  The world-class ‘Heartbeat of the Murray’ is a 360-degree multi-media spectacular. The display uses, water, light, laser, sound and special effects, to tell the story of the Murray. You will be transported back 30 million years, before travelling forward through time, to the Murray River as we know it today. After the show, return transfer by coach to your accommodation in Swan Hill.

Day Four - Thursday 9th August 

After breakfast, all aboard for our Journey to Hattah-Kulkyne NP Visitor Centre and wetlands.  Your trip today will include a visit to Sea Lake and Lake Tyrrell.  The spectacular salt lakes formed, resulting from the inundation, in the Murray-Darling Basin, through sea level rise, and its subsequent retreat.

The lake itself is quite ancient, thought to be formed, by drifting sand, blocking the passage of Tyrrell Creek. Over time it has become a giant salt basin, due to the flow of subterranean saline water and the run-off from Tyrrell Creek. There is also evidence of the indigenous occupation of the area over the last 45,000 years. Back on board your coach we will stop briefly at Ouyen. Lunch today will be picnic style experienced in the Hattah Kulkyne National Park and surrounds.  After lunch, board your coach to Mildura.

On arrival at Mildura Wharf, you will board the PS Melbourne for and interpretive river cruise. After river cruise, board your coach. Overnight accommodation in Mildura.  Relax and enjoy the amenities at your hotel.  Tonight, you will be dining, A’ La Carte, at the well renown restaurant “Three Little Pigs” adjacent to your hotel.

 After dinner enjoy Mildura.   Explore, wander and experience Mildura’s nightlife.

Day Five to Eight –  On board the Murray Princess – Meals all Inclusive

Breakfast – Board Coach – Destination – Renmark – Mannum, South Australia

Renmark “Visit to the “Wilkadene Woolshed Brewery. – This is an experience not to be missed. Angove Cellar Door for wine tasting, then onto the Renmark club. Experience lunch overlooking the picturesque Murray River. 

After lunch board Coach bound for Mannum, where, upon arrival, you will board the “Princess of the Murray Cruise” -4 days/3 nights. The  Murray Princess, has five passengers decks, Sturt, Randell, Cadell and Chaffey, named after the Murray River's great pioneers. Relax on the sun deck, whilst enjoying your favourite beverage.  Enjoy unlimited scenery and photographic delights. The Murray Princess is a true inland paddle wheeler built for the Murray River, with a character and charm of yesteryear. It is the largest inland paddle wheeler in the southern hemisphere. The Murray Princess brings the unique advantages, of small ship cruising, to the remarkable setting of Australia’s outback. An authentic paddle wheeler, propelled by its massive stern wheel. The onboard atmosphere is relaxed and informal.  The lounge features a majestic view, of the paddlewheel in action, through the two-story viewing window. Upper and lower lounge areas, are accessed by the classic brass and mahogany style spiral staircase.  The Murray Princess cruises between Mannum, Murray Bridge and Salter's Station, along the Murray River. The wetlands in this area provide essential breeding and feeding habitats, for many species. This includes waterbirds, fish, invertebrates and plants. All this wonderful wildlife   amid it’s outback setting and natural habitat.

Friday 10th February – On board Murray Princess

Mid-afternoon we depart historic Mannum, birthplace of the Murray River trade and communications. Cruise upriver whilst you enjoy pre-dinner drinks and a welcome dinner.  Cruise under floodlight, to your overnight mooring at Mundarra. Onboard, you may see nocturnal wildlife on the Murray River bank, watch for grey kangaroos, hair-nosed wombats, Murray River longnecked tortoises, and spoon-beaked echidnas. Your resident on-board entertainer provides music, for those who enjoy, the times of Murray River boat cruises.

Saturday 11th February on board the Murray Princess

In 1879, the first bridge to span the Murray River was built at Edwards Crossing, which quickly became the bustling township of Murray Bridge. After a hearty breakfast, join a guided tour of the town's historic landmarks and local attractions. This afternoon you will begin your journey upriver. Tonight, the boat will moor at Craignook, where after dinner you can enjoy being entertained your talented crew.

Sunday 12th February on board the Murray Princess

All ashore, for the guided nature walk, where your guide will share the secrets of the local flora and fauna. It is a great way to get in a little exercise, before Murray Princess departs for the big river gorges and 90 metres cliffs of the upper river. Mid-morning join everyone in the Sturt dining room for a special presentation, on the bounty of food and wine produced in the river land’s. At the 205km mark the Princess will turn and head down river to River View Lodge where your discovery vessel waits for a backwater wildlife tour. Traveling in small, personalised groups, you will explore the maze of the river and the bird life is amazing. Watch for darters, herons and egrets feeding along the river's muddy edges. During the afternoon also join the bocce or fishing challenge. This evening we will join, the captain and officers for pre-dinner drinks and the finale captain's dinner and dance.

Monday 13th February on board the Murray Princess

Breakfast then, it’s time to say farewell

After breakfast, the Murray Princess arrives at Mannum on the Murray River.  Reluctantly we farewell, the cruise staff and new friend’s.

On your return to dock – your coach will return to pick you up.  Your return journey is express to Melbourne, stopping en-route for lunch & afternoon tea. Please enquire when booking.
